This was a great read! I loved how you used a different font here, it reminded me closely of text on an old school game display :) I personally connect to this article, as it reminds me of how I'd love to go to the local arcades growing up. They're all still standing to my knowledge, but have expanded drastically more towards an all-around fun idea, with bowling, amusement park rides, etc. Sometimes I do just want to go back to a classic arcade and play some simple games, and this post reminded me of those times.
That's the font feel I was going for, I'm glad it came across! You are correct, most arcades these days, besides the bar/game place hybrids, are in places like amusement parks or one or two in local mom and pop shops - places with other main purposes and have the arcade games on the side.
I love your take on arcades and how they have been in decline. My parents recently opened a business and have two arcade games in it, Excite Bike and Pinball. I had no idea the kind of fun those could be! I'm glad arcades aren't completely gone and long wait for my opportunity to enjoy a trip to Dave & Busters.
I wish your parents luck with their new business and hope the arcade games help! In truth, I've never actually been to a Dave & Buster's, but I've been to similar places.
Brooklyn, reading through your post was reliving some childhood memories so that was fun to walk down memory lane. Nostalgia is a powerful force. The graphics you chose were good representations, and I like the text font. When I was watching the Netflix series, "Stranger Things" I loved the scenes in the mall and the arcade, which is the vibe your post speaks to.
Agreed, nostalgia is one of the main forces I'm utilizing behind my blog. I've never seen "Stranger Things," but I'm glad you could connect my post to it in some way!
